Indeed, Fr. Tyrrell, it might be a very good advice for philosophical or theological PhD candidates to write their theses on theologians or philosophers who are not still living.  On the other hand, I always dreamed I would have had the opportunity of leading a roundtable discussion with you, Bernard Lonergan SJ, Karl Rahner SJ, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Hans Kueng, and Viktor E. Frankl. Because all these mentioned Catholic theologians (including you) mentioned Frankl in their work (and some of them - you, Rahner, and von Balthasar - even met him personally).  Now, I think such would colloquium would have been a great idea to get new insights according to many posted questions here, especially about theology and therapy, for example. Unfortunately, Lonergan, Rahner, and Balthasar are gone - a fact that makes my own research like a puzzle or even an archaeology.
